Underground visitor centre and time travel machine

Outline Castellum Wall Servetstraat

One of the aims is to make the underground history of the Domplein square accessible by creating underground visitor spaces and routes using new conserving, building and education techniques.

The Domplein square is part of the historical inner city of Utrecht. It contains above and below ground the remains of 2,000 years of history, including a Roman castellum and palaces of the German emperors dating back to the early Middle Ages.

The Domplein square has potential to become a place of international importance where inhabitants of and visitors to Utrecht will enjoy great hospitality. As a location where the historical roots of the city are tangible, it has potential to give major impulses to the economic and social structure of the city.
