The City of Chester is located in the North-West of England, close to the Welsh border. Chester is 40 minutes drive from the cities of Liverpool and Manchester and 2 hours by train from London.

Chester has a population of 120,000. The city welcomes 8.5 million visitors a year. Chester’s major attractions include the most complete city walls in Britain, the unique world-famous Row galleries, the largest stone-built Roman amphitheatre in the country, the Victorian Eastgate clock and Chester Cathedral. The City also hosts Chester races (the oldest Horse Racing course in Britain) and Chester Regatta, the oldest rowing competition in the world.
Founded in 1839, the University of Chester is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the country. Chester is a major tourist destination, its other major employer is in the Financial Services market.
