"Aelius en de tijdmachine" in Primary Schools

Primary school children (age 9-10) from the Utrecht district Kanaleneiland get acquainted with the Roman history in their district.

On the first Friday of January alderman Frits Lintmeijer attended the playful though instructive history lesson "Aelius en de tijdmachine". The lesson, which has been executed at several schools, is based on the Limes, the Roman border which ran through Utrecht 2000 years ago. It has been

The student team of the Utrecht Art school, accompanied by the Foundation ‘Van en voor jongeren’, used augmented reality for an interactive search with the school kids. They became acquainted with the Roman past of their very own neighborhood. 


The project has gotten a lot of media attention lately: local papers writing about the collaboration and the technique. Also, NOS Jeugdjournaal and
